Cameras have become an everyday part of our lives, There was a time when lugging a camera on vacation or just for an outing was a big deal. Then after you took a picture you still had to wait to see if it even came out. Today we have an instant photo in front of us and people take thousands of pictures. Today people delete more pictures then the average family would take in a year.

Easter Polaroid Model 100
As we all know how busy the Holidays can be, one thing that our family likes to do is to celebrate the Eve's of certain Holidays. This way we get to see more of the family and spread out the fun.
On this Easter Eve we not only had good food but we broke out the old Polaroid 100. Since we started selling the film at the shop it seems that everyone has a story about the camera they use to own and they have this fond memory of all the work that went into the picture taking process itself.
The first few pictures we took came out very dark and the flash did not work. Even in the bright sunlight some of the pictures had a dark tone. It makes me think about how many pictures and all the film wasted in the past years from bad lighting and malfunctions.
With the easy access to your iphone or digital camera that can take pictures and send them to everyone in seconds.
I think everyone should have an old camera on display, it will always strike up a conversation.

Vintage Camera Shop "The Camera Hut"
Ok, we finally have a place to call our own and it is so nice to set up all the cameras. We found a place in Bally Pa just before Jakes Flea Market. It's four days a week and it's always busy rain or shine.
We moved in at the end of January and are still doing some remodeling to make everything perfect but so far the response has been wonderful, people are buying and dropping off cameras to buy.
A new thing we started is transferring 8mm and VHS to DVD.

Girl Scout Brownie Camera and flash
Some one came into the shop to trade this in, I have seen the Boy Scout Brownie cameras but never the Girl Scouts. This one was with the original box. The strap was broken but still had a neat look to it.
This one is going into the camera series for YouTube.
